I’ve stepped willingly into the jaguar’s mouth — that ancient, velvet-dark threshold where gods and monsters trade secrets — and emerged with new works that hum with ancestral electricity.
“In the Mouth of the Jaguar: Myths Reimagined,” presented by Artier Fine Art, is no polite nod to heritage. It’s a remix, a rebellion, a luminous growl. Ten Latin American and diasporic artists (myself included) have taken pre-Columbian legends by the scruff and dragged them, claws gleaming, into our burning present: climate warriors disguised as deities, border-crossers wearing heroic masks, shapeshifters scrolling through digital jungles.
The jaguar — eternal guardian, eternal trickster — opens wide. Step inside.
My latest optic string sculptures, those hypnotic portals of neon filament and precise geometry, will make their debut across two electrifying stages:
January 7–11, 2026
Los Angeles Convention Center – West Hall – Booth 612
Opening Night Premiere: January 7 — come thirsty for transformation
Curated by the visionary Marisa Caichiolo for the inaugural Latin American Pavilion, this exhibition is a living myth — urgent, unapologetic, and gloriously alive. Even the Los Angeles Post couldn’t resist a peek inside the jaws:
Art Palm Beach 2026
January 28–February 1, 2026
Palm Beach County Convention Center – Booth 818
The jaguar stretches, yawns, and invites you deeper
Come find me in Los Angeles or Palm Beach. The jaguar is waiting — mouth open, eyes glowing, ready to swallow the old world and spit out something fiercer.
With a wink from the shadows and a roar from the future,
Ender Martos
